

This is necessary when the steam wand movement becomes stiff.

1. Remove the back panel.
2. Turn off the machine's back switch.
3. Unplug the power cord.

1. Unplug the USB cable.
2. Gently pull the tablet stand out.
1. Unscrew the 3 screws holding the tablet stand.
2. Remove the stand.
Then...
1. Remove the portafilter.
2. Remove the group head handle.
1. Hold the outside nut with an adjustable wrench or a 26 mm wrench, and use another adjustable wrench or a 22 mm wrench to loosen the ball joint nut.
2. Fully unscrew the ball joint nut by hand. Wear comfort-grip gloves if you need extra grip.
3. Inside the ball joint nut, locate the steam wand joint and remove the spring carefully.
Using a cloth, apply food-grade grease to the rounded end of the steam wand and to the end of the spring where it contacts the joint.
1. Place the spring back into position and set the joint on top of it.
2. Position the rounded end of the steam wand onto the joint, press the wand inward to compress the spring, and engage the thread
3. Screw the ball joint nut on by hand
4. Then hold the outside nut and secure the ball joint nut with the wrenches.
