Idea: a tabletop pitcher rinser

Scott Rao, Bugs and me are going on a two week EU tour, going to a different city every day by train.  In such a situation, the coffee cart I've designed, isn't practical. I need to break everything down into suitcases, a max of two suitcases per person.

A pitcher rinser is extremely useful, because:

  1. I can knock out the coffee puck and then rinse out the portafilter basket
  2. I can wet the coffee cloth to clean the steam wand and group head
  3. I can rinse out a milk pitcher
  4. this workflow is really fast and efficient.
  5. but unfortunately the pitcher rinser we sell, is countersunk only (as are most rinsers)

One idea we had was to make a tabletop box. We might still do that.

I merged the “tabletop box” idea with suitcase foam, and cut foam out that holds the pump, internal tubing, and rinser, one one side of a Decent suitcase.

You can see the tubes if I lift up the pitcher rinser.

I can still fit a Niche Grinder on one side of the suitcase.

When I arrive at an event, I take out the Niche, place this open suitcase on a tabletop, and connect (a) clean water (b) dirty water and (c) power plug.

The two water vessels take a lot of space in a suitcase, so we're exploring using collapsing water vessels.  Here are two designs we're ordering, to try out:

This is still very much R&D, though I'll be taking this setup on the road for two weeks, so it has to mostly work!  I'll let you know how it goes.
