We have released a new version of the Half Decent Scale firmware, which includes new features and stability improvements:
The new firmware (version 3.0.0) brings the scale web apps directly to the scale. You can use them with any browser on iOS devices by connecting to the Half Decent Scale Wi-Fi network.
The new WiFi connection type is also supported by the PyDecentScale library and so any apps that use it, automatically will have wifi support.
Of course, using Wi-Fi is not mandatory and can be turned off to save battery life. You can turn it on only when you wish to perform over-the-air or Wi-Fi firmware updates.
Please note that the Wi-Fi module on HDS only works with 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi.
Additionally, we have changed the time intervals for button presses slightly, as well as added a power off option by long pressing the O button, making the use of HDS a bit more ergonomic.
